Simulation Engineer does play a key role as a decision-support-system to drive the development of new products with priorities goals to reduce overall costs and lead-time to market.

Job Description

  • You will be working alongside the other teams to gather all necessary data as required for the pre-processing phase set-up and calibration of numerical models with respect to preliminary NDT&DT cast results
  • Take responsibilities of simulation modelling projects through the preparation of FEM model, definition of input data and final analysis
  • Manage modelling projects within delivering time scheduling;
  • Manage specific issues related to the FEM Model preparation (e.g. generation of shell, insulation etc.);
  • Analysis of numerical results and ability to define optimization actions to enhance parts quality and to submit technical proposals to the Technical Team
  • Give assistance and support to Casting Modelling and Simulation Team depending on current specific needs and requests
  • Presentation of the numerical modeling results to the customers


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Extensive experience in numerical modelling field with specific orientation on investment casting process
  • Use of basic thermal and filling suite of FEM software ProCast™
  • Appreciable experience with advanced modules of FEM software ProCast™ for stress analysis and grain structure prediction
  • Sound knowledge of materials science, specifically metallurgy of metallic materials for High-Temperature applications and ceramic materials for investment casting applications
  • Sound knowledge of fluid dynamics, heat transfer process, solidification process as related to metal processing operations, thermo-mechanical behavior of ceramic and metallic materials
  • Strong technical background on equiax and DS/single crystal investment casting processes
  • Ability to work under pressure and with excellent organization skills to meet projects timing constrains
  • Ability to manage independently and drive projects to completion
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to communicate complex technical issues in an appropriate, concise and accurate fashion, both in writing and verbally
  • PC skills and program management skills


Education and experience

BS in Engineering preferred Master degree

Broad knowledge of mechanical, industrial, materials science engineering along with investment casting

Good written and spoken English
